When we surround ourselves with wickedness, we can begin to adopt those same habits, but God calls us to live a supernatural life that shows others His way is worth following. Obedience helps us avoid unnecessary pain and opens the door for God to move and reveal His purpose for our lives. When we focus on ourselves or speak carelessly, we risk becoming spiritually blind, but humility and self-control keep us aligned with God’s will. Although the world makes it seem like following God means missing out, what He has planned is far greater than anything we could imagine. Choosing to set our hearts on God, getting out of our own way, and embracing His ways leads to true life and freedom.
